Aviemore(Scottish Gaelic: An Aghaidh Mhòr) is a tourist resort in the Highlands of Scotland. These are in the area called Badenoch and Strathspey, within a Highland administrative region. These are in the traditional county of Morayshire and was in the postal county of Inverness-shire.
A town is popular for skiing and other winter sports, and for hill-walking in the Cairngorm Mountains. Located inside a Cairngorms National Park, Aviemore is one of the big towns in the park, using the people of 2,397 when of the go census.
These are a 1st skiing resort to be established around Scotl& and is likewise notable for with the freely grazing reindeer herd, the simply of these in the United Kingdom.
A village was transformed in the 1960s by large developments for the tourer industry, & pavements which were designed by John Poulson, later to exist as the centre of a graft scandal.
Aviemore lies on the A9 road from Inverness to Perth. It has the railway station on the Highland Main Line and is also a southern terminus of the Strathspey Railway, a heritage railway.
